Action and representation in tangible systems: implications for design of learning interactions?Sara Price (Institute of Education - University of London) AbstractThe facility to promote physically active engagement through tangible systems highlights the need to understand how different designs impact on action and interaction, and the subsequent implications for different contexts. This paper draws on studies involving two tangible learning systems to analyse the effect of different aspects of the design on the kinds of (inter)actions engendered and how they may create, shape and constrain different learning opportunities, mainly in terms of reflection, awareness and learner-to-learner interactions.
